Fed: Anderson admits he misled people with rounding up coment

CANBERRA, Jan 18 AAP - Acting Prime Minister John Anderson today admitted he had misled
consumers and business over the rounding up of the GST.

Under questioning yesterday, Mr Anderson said the government would not allow any rounding
up under the new tax.

But Mr Anderson today said his comment, which appeared to contradict Financial Services
Minister Joe Hockey, had been a shorthand answer.

He said he had meant no rounding that increased prices more than 10 per cent under the GST.
