Vic: Murder trial over police shootings to start today
The Supreme Court trial of two men charged with the murder of two Melbourne policeofficers begins today.
Sergeant GARY SILK, aged 35, and Senior Constable ROD MILLER, aged 34, were gunneddown in suburban Moorabbin on August 16, 1998.
BANDALI DEBS, aged 49, of Narre Warren, and JASON ROBERTS, aged 21, of Cranbourne,have pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder.
More than 400 Victorians have taken part in jury selection this week for a larger-than-usualpanel of 15 jurors.
Opening submissions are expected to start this afternoon for the trial expected totake several months.
